Things to consider while choosing the Best Deer Blind Heater

Here are some crucial factors that you need to consider when selecting the most appropriate deer blind heater for your needs.

The Type of Heater

There are primarily two types of heaters that are available for deer blinds, namely, propane and electric. Propane heaters are quite prevalent and preferred because they’re portable, effective, and can provide heat even in the absence of electricity. Electric heaters, on the other hand, are more convenient if you have a power source in your deer blind. However, they are usually less potent than propane heaters.

Safety Features

Safety should be your top priority when using a heater in a confined space such as a deer blind. It is crucial to look for heaters that have automatic shut-off features in case of emergencies, such as tip-overs, fuel depletion, or when the oxygen level drops too low. Additionally, heaters with flameless catalytic heating elements are a safer option as they do not produce flames or emit harmful gases such as carbon monoxide.

Heating Capacity

It is vital to consider the size of your deer blind and the number of people who will be using it when choosing a heater. A heater that is too small will not provide sufficient warmth, while one that is too big may produce too much heat and end up being wasteful. Always go for heaters that are rated according to the square footage of your deer blind.

Noise Level

Some heaters tend to be quite noisy, which can be a problem if you’re trying to be quiet while hunting. It is crucial to look for heaters that operate quietly, so you can stay warm and comfortable without disturbing wildlife.

Portability

If you’re someone who frequently moves your deer blind from one location to another, then a portable heater is a must-have. Propane heaters are generally more portable than electric heaters, so keep this in mind when selecting a heater.

Cost

Finally, the cost is an essential factor to consider when choosing a deer blind heater. You need to evaluate your budget and find heaters that offer the best value for their features and performance.

In conclusion, when selecting a deer blind heater, always consider factors such as the type of heater, safety features, heating capacity, noise level, portability, and cost. By taking all these factors into account, you can find a heater that will keep you warm and comfortable throughout your hunting expedition.

Mr. Heaters with a pilot do require that pilot to stay running. If that is getting blown out, then the heater will turn off. Your options to keep that running will be to place it in such a way that the wind is no longer blowing out the pilot light.
